What we Believe

images-heart-shape

We believe in living out our Christian faith as effectively as possible, having an impact on those who have not yet heard or experienced the great news about Jesus Christ.

We are a friendly, welcoming group of people who love God and are seeking to reach out to our community.

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."  Act 2:42

This verse from Acts is our vision as we explore what it means to be devoted to each of these things and find new ways of deepening our devotion to Jesus.

Why don't you come and join us on the journey?

We are two Church of England churches who share our vicar, Rev'd Hannah.

Why are we here at all? Why have an All Saints’ Higher Walton or Holy Trinity, Hoghton – or any church for that matter? We’re here because of the God we know and worship. It might look a bit arrogant to say “we know God” but the Christian claim for 2000 years is that God has been working very hard to BE KNOWN.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday or Wednesday morning.

Where and When

All Saints, Higher Walton: We meet at the Church Building (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 9.15am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you get a parking space and find somewhere to sit before the service begins. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team.
We serve tea, coffee and biscuits after the service. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.
Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up.

What about my children?
Children are welcome at all our services.  Although we don't have specific groups for children during the morning services, they are always welcome and can often be found getting involved.  We also have paces at the back of both churches with toys and craft materials for children to use.

Our main service which caters for children happens every Sunday afternoon at 4pm up in the hall at Holy Trinity, Hoghton.  Everyone is welcome at 4forAll.  This is a very informal service with songs, talking, prayers and crafts.

Getting Connected

Small Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, in the evenings. Check out Small Groups and see if there’s one that you could join, or we can put you in touch with a small group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group
